What Is RxSpan MD?

RxSpan MD was founded by Dr John Diaz, described on the site as a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, who says patients seeking cosmetic work often asked him for guidance on weight and wellness. That is a candid origin story and we would rather have it than none. It is also worth noting plainly what it means: the founding physician's board certification is in plastic surgery, while the practice prescribes across weight management, hormone therapy, sexual health, hair loss and 'longevity'. Physicians may lawfully prescribe outside their specialty and many do so competently — but if endocrinology or metabolic medicine expertise is what you are looking for, that is not what the founder's credential represents.

The affiliate programme lists RxSpan MD as launched in May 2026 and last updated in June, which makes this a very new operation. We could locate no BBB profile, no Trustpilot presence and no meaningful independent review record. That is an absence of evidence rather than evidence of a problem, but it means everything below rests on the company's own materials and data.

The catalogue is broad. Its API returned 133 products, 85 of them flagged as visible, spanning compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide in injection, orally disintegrating tablet and oral capsule forms; brand-name Wegovy; a microdosing GLP-1 line; NAD+ by injection, nasal spray and tablet; sermorelin; glutathione; gonadorelin; testosterone cypionate, cream and troches; estradiol cream; Trimix injectable ED therapy; PDE5 inhibitors; and a range of compounded dermatology and hair formulas.

The pricing is competitive and the fee structure is genuinely clean. Compounded semaglutide ODT is $179 a month and tirzepatide ODT $199. The injection is $249 monthly, falling to about $194 a month on a twelve-month plan. Brand-name Wegovy is $1,349. And the three items that usually hide costs elsewhere — the telehealth visit, shipping, and registered dietitian support — are each priced at $0 in the company's own data. Included dietitian support is uncommon and clinically valuable during rapid weight loss.

So the offer is reasonable. What we cannot vouch for is the operation delivering it.

The Catalogue & What It Costs

These figures come from RxSpan MD's own product API on 7 August 2026, because its category pages would not display them. Two things worth flagging. First, the fee claims check out: visit, shipping and dietitian support are all genuinely $0, so the medication price appears to be the whole price — cleaner than the membership-plus-medication structures used elsewhere. Second, the multi-month figures in that data are labelled 'per month' when they are plainly plan totals: $2,327 is the twelve-month semaglutide injection price, not a monthly charge. Read as totals, the longer plans work out at roughly $194 to $219 a month, which is a modest discount rather than the halving some competitors advertise. Confirm the billing basis before you commit to a twelve-month plan.

Compounded, Microdosed and Oral — What Isn't Established

Most of this catalogue is compounded. RxSpan MD carries a consistent disclosure on every product: 'Medications only issued when clinically appropriate after provider evaluation. RXspan MD does not manufacture compounded medications. Actual product appearance and labeling of the medication you receive will differ from website images.' Disclosing that the product will not look like the photograph is a small honesty most sellers skip, and we credit it.

What that line does not do is explain that compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been reviewed for safety, efficacy or manufacturing quality. Several competitors state this explicitly and prominently; here we did not find it. It is the single most important thing a buyer of compounded medication should be told.

The microdosing line needs a direct warning. RxSpan MD sells 'Microdose Semaglutide' and 'Microdose Tirzepatide' as distinct products at $179 and $199. GLP-1 microdosing — deliberately using doses below the studied therapeutic range — has become popular online and has no clinical trial evidence behind it. The weight-loss results everyone cites come from specific titration schedules to specific maintenance doses. A lower dose may well produce fewer side effects; whether it produces meaningful weight loss has not been established in trials. If a clinician recommends a lower dose for your tolerance, that is ordinary practice. Buying 'microdosing' as a product category is buying an untested regimen.

The oral forms deserve scepticism too. Semaglutide is a peptide and is destroyed by digestion, which is why the only FDA-approved oral semaglutide, Rybelsus, is formulated with a specific absorption enhancer called SNAC and must be taken on an empty stomach with a precise amount of water and a 30-minute wait. Compounded oral semaglutide capsules and orally disintegrating tablets are not that product, and their absorption has not been established. If you are choosing an ODT or capsule over an injection to avoid needles, that is an understandable preference — but ask the prescriber directly what evidence exists that the dose reaches your bloodstream.

NAD+ carries the same caution we have raised elsewhere: the FDA has publicly warned that compounders have used food-grade NAD+ to make injectable products, noting that food-grade ingredients 'are not suitable for compounding sterile drugs without appropriate processing, due to the high risk of contamination with microbes and endotoxins'. That is an industry-wide warning, not a finding about this company. At $249 a month, ask which pharmacy compounds it and what grade of material is used.

Brand-name Wegovy at $1,349 is the one FDA-approved weight-loss option here, and it is priced in line with the wider market.

This was not a scraping artefact — the company's own product API returned 133 items, 85 of them explicitly flagged as visible, complete with prices. The catalogue exists; the storefront is not showing it. For a business whose entire model is selling medication online, that is a serious operational failure, and it is why this review rates as low as it does despite a fundamentally reasonable offer.
• •The product information is the deeper problem. Every one of those 133 products carries the identical description: a single line noting that medications are issued when clinically appropriate, that the company does not manufacture compounded medication, and that the product will look different from the photograph. On the day we reviewed it, every category page returned 'No products found' and the homepage displayed a load failure, while the company's own back end held 85 products flagged for display with prices attached. For a business that exists to sell medication online, a storefront that shows nothing is not a cosmetic problem.

The product information is worse than the storefront. All 133 products share one identical line of text. No dosing, no ingredients, no side effects, no contraindications — for compounded semaglutide, for testosterone, for estradiol, and for Trimix, an injection carrying a real risk of a urological emergency that is normally titrated under supervision. And 'microdosing' is sold as a product category despite having no trial evidence behind it at all.
