Brand-Name or Compounded?

Everything Trimi sells here is compounded, from state-licensed 503A compounding pharmacies. Trimi states correctly that compounded medications 'are not themselves FDA-approved as drug products.' Section 503A pharmacies compound for individually identified patients under state pharmacy board oversight; they are not subject to the federal cGMP standards that govern 503B outsourcing facilities, which is a meaningful difference in manufacturing assurance for a sterile weekly injectable.

Two marketing claims on Trimi's site deserve scrutiny, because federal regulators have recently acted against near-identical language elsewhere.
