What Is MEDVi?

MEDVi is a US telehealth company selling weight-loss treatment online. You complete an intake form, consult a clinician by message or video, and medication is shipped to you. Its catalogue spans compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide as weekly injections, compounded GLP-1 dissolvable tablets, and a membership route at $99/mo plus medication cost that gives access to brand-name Wegovy (pill and injection) and Zepbound. Included services are advertised as dietician visits, care coaching, 24/7 unlimited support and messaging, and free expedited delivery.

First, a clarification this site owes you: MEDVi is not MEDvidi. They are unrelated companies with confusingly similar names, and we review them separately — MEDvidi is a San Jose mental-health telehealth service with a consultation-only model, and it is not the subject of anything below. MEDVi's customer-facing reputation is genuinely strong on one measure. It holds around 4.4 out of 5 across more than 11,000 Trustpilot reviews, with roughly 79% at five stars. That is a large sample and it should not be dismissed — a lot of MEDVi customers get their medication, lose weight and are happy.

The regulatory and complaint record points the other way, hard. On 20 February 2026 the FDA issued MEDVi, LLC warning letter 721455 for misbranding. The BBB lists MEDVi at 131 Continental Dr Ste 305, Newark, DE, is not accrediting it, and rates it F — citing '682 complaint(s) filed against business' and 'Failure to respond to 100 complaint(s) filed against business.' We set out the FDA findings in full below, because they go to exactly the claims a buyer relies on.

Brand-Name or Compounded?

MEDVi sells both compounded and brand-name products, and the distinction is the subject of its FDA warning letter. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved: the finished products have not been reviewed for safety, efficacy or manufacturing quality. Brand-name Wegovy and Zepbound are approved products, offered here through a $99 membership with the medication billed separately.

MEDVi's own current disclosure states that compounded GLP-1s 'are produced in FDA-regulated facilities' but that the medications are 'not FDA-approved or evaluated for safety, efficacy, or quality.' That second half is accurate and appropriately blunt.

The FDA's objection was to a different set of claims. In its February 2026 letter the agency singled out the statements 'Same active ingredient as Wegovy® and Ozempic®' and 'Same active ingredient as Mounjaro® and Zepbound®', writing: 'Compounded drug products are not FDA-approved. Your claims imply that your products have been FDA-approved or otherwise evaluated for safety and effectiveness when they have not.' This is worth internalising as a reader, because 'same active ingredient' is the single most common argument used to sell compounded GLP-1s across this entire market — and the FDA has now said in writing that it renders the product misbranded.

There is no published clinical evidence that a compounded dissolvable tablet delivers comparable drug exposure, so you may be paying $349–$369 a month for an uncertain dose.

Limitations

• •The FDA letter is the most consequential document in this review, and it is worth reading precisely rather than as a headline. The agency reviewed medvi.io in December 2025 and concluded that the compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide products were misbranded under sections 502(a) and 502(bb) of the FDCA on two grounds. First, the product labels pictured on the site carried the MEDVi name, 'suggesting MEDVi is the compounder of those drugs when in fact it is not.' Second, the claims 'Same active ingredient as Wegovy® and Ozempic®' and 'Same active ingredient as Mounjaro® and Zepbound®' were found to 'imply that your products have been FDA-approved or otherwise evaluated for safety and effectiveness when they have not.' The FDA gave fifteen working days to respond and warned that failure to address the violations 'may result in legal action without further notice, including, without limitation, seizure and injunction.'
• •It is fair to note context: in March 2026 the FDA issued similar letters to more than thirty telehealth companies over compounded GLP-1 marketing, so MEDVi is not uniquely targeted. It is not fair to treat that as exculpatory — MEDVi was in the first wave, in February, and the specific finding that it presented itself as the compounder of drugs it does not make goes beyond loose marketing language.
• •The gap between Trustpilot and the BBB is the most striking thing about MEDVi and it is not a contradiction. People who receive medication and lose weight leave five-star reviews; people who cannot cancel or get refunded escalate to the BBB. Both records are real. What they jointly describe is a company that delivers the product competently and handles money badly — and 100 unanswered complaints means there is no reliable route to resolution when it goes wrong.
• •The introductory pricing structure compounds that risk. A first month at roughly $179 stepping to roughly $299 is a 67% increase, and the complaint pattern says people are surprised by it. If you sign up, know your month-two number before you pay your month-one one.
• •The dissolvable tablet at $349–$369 a month is the weakest item in the catalogue on evidence. Oral semaglutide is pharmacologically difficult and the approved product needed a specific formulation to work at all. Paying a premium over the injection for a compounded oral version with no exposure data is the opposite of the trade you want.

MEDVi is a genuinely difficult review to write, because two large bodies of evidence point in opposite directions. More than 11,000 Trustpilot reviewers rate it 4.4 out of 5, roughly four in five giving five stars. That is not a fake signal, and it means many people get their medication promptly, are supported by a dietician and a coach, and lose weight. If that were the whole picture this would be a well-rated provider.

It is not the whole picture. On 20 February 2026 the FDA told MEDVi in writing that its compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide were misbranded — because its website implied it compounded drugs it does not compound, and because 'same active ingredient as Wegovy' style claims implied an FDA approval that does not exist. The agency warned that failure to fix it could lead to seizure and injunction without further notice. Separately, the BBB rates MEDVi F, lists 682 complaints, and records 100 of them as never answered, with billing and cancellation the dominant theme.

We rate MEDVi 1.8 out of 5 — a substantial downgrade from our previous assessment of this company, which was written in March 2026 before the FDA letter and the current complaint record were reflected here. A well-liked service with an unresolved federal misbranding finding and a hundred ignored complaints is not something we can recommend, however many people it has helped.
